New Lanka Tools stocks 9 die grinders and straight grinders. These are high-speed precision grinding tools built for detail work — deburring, shaping and finishing in places an angle grinder is far too large and too aggressive to reach.

Metal fabricators, welders, toolmakers, mould and die makers, engine reconditioners, foundry finishers and vehicle restorers use these tools. Anyone who needs to clean up an internal corner, port a casting or dress a weld in a confined space will reach for a die grinder rather than anything larger.

Applications include deburring machined and cut edges, dressing and blending welds, cleaning up castings and removing flash, porting and polishing, enlarging and shaping holes and slots, cutting with small reinforced discs, and rust and scale removal in tight areas.

The defining characteristic is speed rather than power. Die grinders spin far faster than an angle grinder, which is what lets small burrs and mounted points cut cleanly. That also means the accessory must be rated for the speed — an undersized shank or an unrated point at high RPM is dangerous. Keep the collet clean, insert the burr shank fully, and do not extend it to reach further into a cavity.
