Blade choice does more for cut quality than machine choice. A coarse blade with few teeth rips fast but tears the face; a fine-toothed blade gives a clean edge in veneered board but cuts slower and loads up in wet timber. Set the depth so the blade projects only slightly below the workpiece — it is safer, reduces tear-out and puts less load on the motor.
